More Egyptians are travelling to Mozambique every year, whether for energy and construction projects, trade, tourism, or family visits. Most visa files need Egyptian official documents, and most of those documents are in Arabic, so you need a clear and accurate translation before you upload anything.
Galenus For Certified Translation & Businessmen Services has provided certified translation in Egypt since 2014. We translate documents for Mozambique visa applications and the Mozambique Embassy in Cairo into Portuguese or English, reproducing every stamp, signature, and date from the original and spelling names exactly as in your passport.
How Egyptians apply for a Mozambique visa
Tourist and business visas are applied for online through the official eVisa portal of Mozambique’s National Migration Service (evisa.gov.mz). The portal lists Egypt’s visa exemption as covering diplomatic, service, and special passports only, so ordinary Egyptian passport holders apply for an eVisa.
You complete the form, upload your documents, pay the fee, and receive a preliminary approval by email, which you print and show when boarding and on arrival. If your visa category is not on the portal, or you need to extend your stay, contact the Embassy of Mozambique in Cairo, which is located in Dokki.
Documents commonly translated for Mozambique
Requirements depend on the visa category. The documents we translate most often include:
- Bank statements as proof of financial means
- Criminal record certificates
- Medical certificates and reports
- Employment letters, work contracts, and invitation letters
- Commercial registers and tax cards for business owners
- Parental authority ID and statements of responsibility for minors
- Degree certificates and transcripts
See our certified translation of certificates service for more detail.
Language and legalization rules
Portuguese is the official language
Portuguese is Mozambique’s official language. The visa pages on the official portal state that medical certificates and criminal records not in Portuguese must be translated by a sworn translator. Galenus arranges the sworn translation of these two documents through a sworn translator we work with, and translates your other documents with our office stamp.
Portuguese or English for other documents
The published pages do not name a language for the remaining documents, so we suggest Portuguese, or English if your application instructions accept it. Our Arabic Portuguese translation page explains our Portuguese service.
Egyptian MFA legalization
Egypt is not a party to the Apostille Convention, so Egyptian documents usually need legalization by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs when a foreign authority asks for it. We offer MFA authentication as an extra service; read more on our Egyptian MOFA certificate authentication page. If the embassy or an authority in Mozambique asks for further legalization, follow your application instructions.
When to translate
Translate after all stamps and legalizations are in place, so the translation covers everything on the original.
Step by step
- Open the official portal, choose your visa category, and read its document list.
- Obtain recent originals from the issuing authorities.
- Legalize what is needed at the Egyptian MFA, or ask us to handle it as an extra service.
- Send us the fully stamped documents.
- We translate into Portuguese or English and run a second review.

Tips to avoid delays
- Make sure your passport is valid for more than six months, as the portal requires.
- Apply early. The portal advises applying three to five days before your trip to allow time for processing and corrections.

- Upload clear, legible scans, which the portal states explicitly.
- Print your preliminary approval and carry it with your passport when you travel.
